Dreamy AirBNB Wedding, Thistledown Farm, Waldorboro Maine Wedding Photographer

Holly and Mike planned the most perfect elopement with their family at the Thistledown Farm AirBNB in Waldorboro, Maine this past summer. It was a joy to photograph. Joined by their patents and their beautiful Belgian Malinois, Bailey. It seemed fitting that we hung Holly’s gorgeous Christy Dawn wedding dress inside the barn, on a Moose antler. The day started off gray, but eventually the clouds gave way to a hazy, warm sunset that we caught by the oceans edge after a romantic walk in the woods.

Thistledown Farm is a cozy AirBNB filled with rustic charm, gorgeous antiques, and a bit of quirky Maine humor. It was a dream venue to photograph. The converted barn features a towering stone fireplace and a farmhouse table that was beautifully appointed wildflower arrangements by Holly’s mother Janis, who did all the flowers for the wedding, she certainly missed her calling as a florist! She even made a floral crown and a foraging bag for Holly to carry.

Holly and Mike’s ceremony was officiated by the amazing Lindsay Gagnon, from Officially Yours. The couple exchanged their vows nestled into the thick of flowering hydrangea wall speckled with blue thistle. Bailey carried their rings and laid patiently at their feet. After the ceremony, we explored the farm and additional out buildings, taking photos, while Chef Mike, from Delicious Thymes, prepared a feast, that was served family style, inside the barn.

Portland Headlight Lighthouse, Fort Williams Maine Fall Wedding

Maine destination adventure weddings an elopements hold a special place in my heart. I can’t think of a more beautiful way to be married than in an intimate setting, surrounded by the majesty of Maine’s wildly diverse scenery. The most important things are paramount—love, moments, and memories that will last a lifetime.

This past November, I welcomed Peter and Sarah and their two dogs, Odin and Domino, to Fort Williams Park and the Portland Headlight Lighthouse. They were married out on the cliffs overlooking this iconic Maine landmark. After their ceremony, we hiked the cliffs and explored the park together to create beautiful images.

Freeport Maine Wedding Photographer: A Private Wedding at a Seaside Freeport Maine Estate

A moment of happiness, you and I sitting on the verandah, apparently two, but one in soul, you and I. We feel the flowing water of life here, you and I, with the garden's beauty and the birds singing. The stars will be watching us, and we will show them what it is to be a thin crescent moon.  -Rumi

The fog hugged the Maine coast like a veil, swirling around the stone facade of the Maine estate where Matt and Renee were waiting to exchange vows, held in love by their closest family and friends and their Australian Shepard. Matt and Renee have such a deep and unyielding love.  Their wedding was beautiful, both intimate and expansive. It's these types of weddings that make my heart stir.  The emotion is tangible and the day is filled with authenticity and warmth.
